The Other Green Majority (593)

This week we start with Carolyn Tinglin MSc RN, President of the National Association of Cannabis Professionals. With federal legalization on the horizon here in Canada we thought it would be a good time to talk about the environmental benefits of hemp farming and it's industrial uses, it's medical applications and how the story of it being illegal was based on greed and racism in the first place. To benefit who? Oil companies of course :)

Tim Nash helps co-host the show today as we talk about the upcoming 'Good Investment Fair' here in Toronto. Tim "The Sustainable Economist" Nash is the founder of Good Investing, which coaches people to make their investments match their ethics, particularly (but not exclusively) concerning environmental issues like climate change. The fair is Wednesday February 21 from 1pm to 8pm at the Annex location of the Center for Social Innovation at Bathurst and Bloor in Toronto.

In the final segment, Tim helps interview Jennifer Macdonald - Manager, Impact Investing at CoPower Inc. which is one of the orgs that will be at the Good Investment Fair. Copower is a greed bond platform which allows Canadians to invest in environmentally ethical projects with both a financial and feel good payback model.
